Havard
Whats the point!! They are all a bunch of crunts with no common sense. I would have voted if one of them would have said they would empty my bin every week!! H.
michael
Did any of you get any kind of contact from the people in advance? I got a leaflet from the Liberals and a few from the BNP, the Liberals seemed so keen to scare people away from the BNP that they forgot to outline the benefits of voting for them other than it not being a vote for the BNP. They then spent the night driving around annoying people with loud speakers, again not really saying much. Labour and the Conservatives just didn't bother trying. Ewen
This one of ours is straight out of a Roald Dahl story. The extremely scary Queenie Comfort

Homer
I got one leaflet from Labour (who own the seat currently), but no one else bothered calling. In this area thats no surprise though (most of which is pikey council house scum types - your normal Labour voters ) Shame on all you that didn't vote. No wonder politics are in such a poor state when so few people take an interest (and considering most folks here are hard working, honest people, it just demostates how little our hard earned democratic rights are wasted). DaveK
I never bother, they are all the same. Same shit, different suit. I agree. My g/f thinks my behaviour is unacceptable though (in a general sense, but let's just concentrate on the voting thing). She researched the parties policies on the web before deciding who to vote for. Don't know if it's a french thing.
Scoboblio
I usually vote in every election, but this time (first one in a new area), no-one deserved it. I've been here over 9 months and I have no idea who any of the candidates were, or their ideas. We need a 'non of the above' option on the paper, to show that we care, but find none of them worthy of our vote!
SMiFFAD
Nope, mainly because i forgot till about 9, then really couldnt be bothered. Were at a stage where all your voting for is the colour of tie the BCB reporters will be wearing for the next year or two, seems to make no difference in policy. Ewen
Homer has a point. However, at present there is no way to vote for the best ideas and policies cherry-picked from all parties. Its the same with general elections, each party has some sensible ideas and agreeable policy, but untill they see sense and merge the best from all parties its like a lottery with some winners and a lot of losers. I dont see the point in voting for compromise. I live my life averaging a straight line through the peaks and troughs of inflation, interest rates, tax, health issues and whatever else seems a good idea for politicians to go all Chernobyl on. By the time I die, I will have enjoyed the best and endured the worse all parties could throw at me, but I wont live long enough to see a party get it right. tbourner
We need a 'non of the above' option on the paper, to show that we care, but find none of them worthy of our vote! Wasn't that in 'Brewsters Millions'? What we need is a proper democracy, whereby you can write/phone/email a suggestion to the government, which then gets put up somewhere, and people vote for or against it over a certain amount of time, it either comes in or not depending on how many vote yes. After the first few years of removing income tax completely, being buried in shit and disease, and realising the governments job of juggling money isn't actually that easy, people should start to learn from their mistakes and start voting logically!! I missed the vote BTW, was planning to vote BNP as well.
