Presumably testament to a freshly built (and a good job with it) engine.I hope it's not that 'cos my engine is a recent build too. I suspect the different turbo and cams are the main thing. Jon's made slightly more rwhp but slightly less torque compared to mine but there's not much in it either way really. I'm just glad he's finally got it all sorted. He's had a nightmare with that car. Taking it easy at the moment to let the engine bed in nicely and let me get used to it. No RLTC at the moment.....suprisingly i really liked not having it. Is the new exhaust allot quieter? As I rem the last one was sooo loud that u had 2 wear ear plugs. LOL P.S. I still worship the ground u walk on for the tipp-off bak in Jan!! Engines usually need a good few thousand miles to run in properly. I'm sure he can even get a little more. How does his torque curve compare to your VVTi one Jake? We pulled up on a layby so i could drive. TBH i didnt want to, i was REALLY scared of the fact that it was wheel spinning in 3rd Drove it off easily and eventually floored it in 3rd - was great. Got used to it on the way home and become confident in it (still taking it easy 99.9% of the time. Went through 1st and 2nd once and that was great, lots of wheel spin and seemed to stay very straight. TBH though, the power is amazing and the lack of lag too! I can see my self lasting with this turbo for about a year and then trying something massive for fun! All in all, really pleased with the way it drives....the short shifter must go though, more chance in finding a needle in a haystack than 5th or 6th gear Having now got a BL pipe I can understand why you needed ear plugs.
