They don't always creep, I can say this from experience. On Sunday I took mine for a test drive after replacing a core plug and water pump and had left a hose clip off. I looked down one minute and the gauge was at normal, literally seconds later the gauge had shot right off the scale. Luckily I dont seem to have any damage, hope this one is ok too. jeremyh Posted May 2, 2007 Author Share Posted May 2, 2007 No, mine didn't creep either, to be honest it wasn't the first thing on my mind, I was more concerned about the steam visibly coming from under the bonnet, it wasn't until after I'd opened the bonnet I looked and realised the temp gauge was at its' highest.
