JohnA
Yeah but then you prob get accused of being Peado...ya not allowed to look at em let alone give em a clip roun the ear...... Follow at a distance, you only want to see the house they get into. Do not talk to them or (obviously) touch them. Either could be taken from a criminal angle and end you in deep trouble. The instant reaction is to jump out and chase/punch/shout But that is the stupidest of all options. They know where you live and you know nothing about them. They know they can wind you up and they also know that the law will protect them, so they can be as cocky as they please. You can't win on those terms, so play it smart and bring the conflict into a territory they don't expect, on your terms. brains beat brawn every time. SBDJ
peasant you not got a double garage like the rest of us? I don't think my neighbour would approve of me using his garage - besides his is so full I'm keeping his engine crane for him in mine - out of the goodness of my heart of course

Then theres the Stalking laws lol...its frustrating, the law is on the side of the criminal and if the criminal is under 16 then its even more difficult. I was watching Crimewatch last night..where those kids beat up the off duty policeman on the bus...unbelievable... Great reconstruction....I often wonder how many small part actors from Crimewatch get ID'd from the programme and end up getting arrested..I know it was him I saw him do it.....I'm sure its happened...though most of em are guilty of bad acting and should be sentenced to 3 years at RADA:p

If you are questioned by police regarding your following the thugs, I bet that they will not prosecute you as a sex offender. In any case, it should be hard to prove you have followed them on purpose ---> if you do it right nobody will ever know. In my case I once chose to engage intimidating tactics, and allowed them to see me at the very end when they had already rang their bell. I said nothing, just walked past. They only live 3 blocks down the road, apparently. It freaked them out big time --- kids are easy to scare if you make the right moves. Especially the ones with 'feck you' attitude. DrivingTheDream
If there was an actual worthy deterrant the c**ts wouldnt do it. To be fair though I was a total arsehole as a kid (probably not as bad as the kids today though). I wouldnt post up here what I used to get up to as I'd get flamed-However, with age I matured and now I actually OWN a car/house etc I see things from a totally different perspective. Its hard to appreciate the things/good things in life if you dont have them-BTW this is by no means defending the actions of kids just trying to put across an understanding. Charlotte
We had a similar situation in our street. I had a window of my car smashed and went to talk to the neighbours about it. He said 'that's nothing, someone walked over my car and left a nice boot print' how awful is that?!
SBDJ
Guy I know had a dent specialist out today; dents to the side, and dents in the roof... Think I need to get one of these...
JohnA
I see this as a typical 'assymetric information' scenario. They feel cocky because they think you know nothing about their identities, so they see it as open season for vandalism (always aimed against others, not towards themselves!) Once you dispell this theory of theirs (CCTV, basic detective work etc) then you're all on equal footing and they'll lose interest. They'll find some other convenient victims. It doesn't work when the other party has nothing to lose, like you have a Ferrari and they are passing by to go to their council estate. Social envy can be very powerful, and it would really be your own fault for stirring it up ---> in that case you should move to a more appropriate place and use a garage for your fancy vehicle. Out of sight, out of mind.

Out of sight, out of mind. I'm sorry, but I disagree with that. If you've worked hard, bought yourself something nice, yes people can be jealous, it's only natural. But when they act on that jealousy in a criminal way, there is no way it's your own fault IMHO

(This only refers to the "Ferrari and Housing Estate" scenario, by the way)
SBDJ
I'm merely referring to the way it should be, rather than the way it actually is Unfortunately housing prices also restrict where you can live
JohnA
...Unfortunately housing prices also restrict where you can live Well that's the whole point, isn't it? In a capitalist society like ours, typically money is used for the allocation of scarce resources. So those who have enough money have the option to be the 'haves' and the rest are forced to be the 'have nots' Apparently some of those who feel born/trapped into poverty have different ideas, but nobody said that the system is perfect. Far from it. Hence the need for social engineering, to enforce compliance. But even that engineering (schools, police etc) actually costs *money*, so now we're left with a cheapskate mess.
