Aircon fan question.

Looking onto the bumper of my TT I can see a small rad infront of the normal rad. This small one has a large fan attached to it. Is this the aircon rad and fan?

When does this fan spin?

I had the aircon on and it didn't move. I turned it off and it didn't move. I'm wondering if it's jammed and is making the noise that I'm mistaking for aux belt issues.

aircon fan is behind the rad, on a bracket attached to the radiator, its about 10cm in width just in front of your throttle body pipe

the bigger fan on the front is just a rad fan, comes on when the sensor in the radiatior reaches a certain temp

the fan in front is the air con fan the one at the back by the throttle body is is the extra rad cooling fan it linked in to a stat at the bottom of the rad comes on at approx 97 degres to give extra cooling if you get the car hot then turn on the air con you will see the fan on the front cut in and out as its required by the air con only know this because i have fitted twin electric fans and had to remove the extra rad cooling fan
