Foz
Seeing as im busy posting today ill ask another newb question..ahem. So what im asking all you guys who clearly know what theyre talking about is this: Q: If you had £1000 to spend on improving the performance of your car (ie 0-60, BHP etc) then where would you start? ( I know £1000 aint much but ive got to start somewhere!) A: ???? Thanks all. Foz.

Sheefa
BPU anyday of the year, although could open the car to more or expose any problems that hide underneath. UK Brake setup is a very good idea if you like going fast, AND stopping fast too

JODY T
To go Bpu Foz you need it all and a walbro pump.... That will let you safely up the boost to around 1.1bar with a restrictor ring.. IMO 1.1 is better than 1.2 for reliability... 1.2 is the max your turbos can take so i wouldnt max them out... It does transform the car!
chilli
bpu 1st, then rltc and then brakes later on or for the uber safe, brakes, rltc then bpu but that would be boring lol
Gaz Walker
This is what I'd do Walbro: £89 Plugs: £70 FCD: £67 Exhaust: £450 (starts from...) Full de-cat: £225 Total: £901 Job's a good un Gaz.
JODY T
Gaz you might as well sell him a panel filter and a restrictor ring too... he has £99 left

Foz
right ok so im getting this now (hey im learning as i go its good stuff) ok so to get a BPU i need to do the following: remove the cat converters restrictor ring is NOT req due to an import? aftermarket cat-back exhaust fuel cut defender upgraded fuel pump Iridium IK22 plugs It also makes sense to fit an eletronic boost gauge to help control that and also an AFR? i have a few questions now guys! Will all this cost less than £1k? Are there any particular makes of these items i should look out for? Are there any members here who can so it for me? If not who do i ask to locally, a tuning specialist? - dont just want to hand my car over to someone whos no idea what therye doing (like me for instance!) Cheers all again, this info is very interesting and useful. Regards. Foz.

Gaz Walker
Gaz you might as well sell him a panel filter and restrictor ring too... he has £99 left R/R comes with our de-cats They sound like good prices Gaz. Why thank you lol yeah and can you squeeze in a boost gauge too? Good idea The fitting would sale him over the 1K though! get the spanners out! That is true! remove the cat converters restrictor ring is NOT req due to an import? aftermarket cat-back exhaust fuel cut defender upgraded fuel pump Iridium IK22 plugs It also makes sense to fit an eletronic boost gauge to help control that and also an AFR? i have a few questions now guys! Will all this cost less than £1k? Are there any particular makes of these items i should look out for? Are there any members here who can so it for me? Cheers all again, this info is very interesting and useful. Regards. Foz. You will need the R/R for an import. As Gaz (the other one ) says IK24's will be better for a full de-cat (the £70 I quoted for plugs was for IK24's) With the gauges you are pushing more than £1k to be honest. Where abouts are you in the country Foz?
