Sidelights

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I haven't put a really dumb question up for ages now so here goes....

I changed my dipped beam bulbs today for brighter bulbs from powerbulbs, and gave the lenses a good clean to remove alot of the yellow. Actually looks good and is alot brighter now;)

However, how the hell do you get to the sidelights as I have the blue bulbs to put in? Is it a lights out job? If so once you have undone the 3 bolts do the lights just come out? i.e. is there anything else attached to them that I need to worry about?

Thanks.

I just took both my headlights out today. I had to remove the battery, air filter and alarm siren to get enough room. Basicly there are 3 screw/nuts holding each head light in. You will also have to undo all of the clips/harnesses. I think you can do the bulbs while the headlights are in situ but its much easier if you take them out.

If you feel behind the H/L you will find a 'screw-cap' behind the sidelight location. Undo it and pull it out. You will find the sidelight bulb on the end of a long extension fitted to this screwcap. The extension allows the bulb to fit into the H/L so far forward.

Absolutely no need to take the H/L out, even if you've got hands like a Gorilla. :)
