Jake
So I ordered a Precision GT4088 (1.19 A/R Divided) from this guy on SupraForums. PayPal'd the money over to him but now he's PM'd me saying that they only do up to .96AR with a v-band turbine outlet and that the 1.19A/R has a six bolt flange and will that be alright? So what should I do? Try to get my money back from him (Less 4% fees and currency exchange charges, both ways probably) ...or go for the .96AR? ...or try to find a 6 bolt to v-band adapter like this : http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/5735/47101422wq0.th.jpg I've been searching the net and I can't one anywhere. terribleturner
Can't find it now, but am sure you can buy a 6-bolt to V flange somewhere. May have been on ebay.com. I'll keep looking

JamesG
If it's any help, when you pay by PayPal the seller has the option to refund you with no fees payable - so you get the full amount back. I don't know whether this applies to overseas purchases though.
Ric
Whats stopping you just welding the flange onto you're down pipe jake? or is that just causing excess cost you dont need atm?

Whats stopping you just welding the flange onto you're down pipe jake? or is that just causing excess cost you dont need atm? Nothing I suppose, just an unnecessary pita. Makes changing the turbo again in the future difficult too.

Mas
So what should I do? Try to get my money back from him (Less 4% fees and currency exchange charges, both ways probably) you wont lose the 4% , you ll get all the exact money you sent to the guy, ofcourse if he didn't refund your money, you open a dipute with paypal and they get your money back for you. Ian C
I'd just have the smaller A/R and enjoy a faster spooling turbo -Ian
Jake
I'd just have the smaller A/R and enjoy a faster spooling turbo Now it turns out the .96AR isn't a divided housing anyway. So I've asked the guy to just refund my money. He's stopped replying to PMs now though.

JohnA
... ...or go for the .96AR? .. What's wrong with the .96? It's not like you're talking .35 vs .50, is it? When it gets around A/R=1 exh backpressure is seriously lowered at full blast. Why do you want to go over 0.8 anyway? I understand if it's a 6L chevvy that can pull cleanly off-boost, but a low-comp 3lt on a 1.5tonne car is a bit on the low side, eh? As for the divided housing, it's OK if it's there, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Exh temps are far more important than pulses.

Chiefgroover
I'd move quick with paypal. I lost $412 for speakers once as I didnt get within the then 30days limit. Not sure of the policy is the same now. When I didnt phone them I was interrupted, talked down and hung up on while politely trying to win their consideration for my case. Yeah that's exactly what I want. Sadly nobody has them in stock, not even Garrett themselves. Why do you want to go over 0.8 anyway? I understand if it's a 6L chevvy that can pull cleanly off-boost, but a low-comp 3lt on a 1.5tonne car is a bit on the low side, eh?A 1.06 or 1.19 A/R divided should spool similarly to a non-divided 0.8 though.
