I was just 'thinking' (bit dangerous lol)

There is so much Talent on here (Im not talking about what you think im talking about ha ha)

But been watching others videos Tom's, Mark's Simon B, and others..and im thinking wouldn't it be a great idea to pull together (pardon the pun) and one day make some really shit hot video.

Basically apart from the cameramen/women (myself included) If we built a 'production team' of say Camera-operators, grip-cam people, sound, couple of researchers, (Jake or someone like him) and most importantly someone who is extremely good at editing, has the time and the skill, maybe someone whos working in the industry or just has enough flair to pull it off.

Pulling all our resources together, i have a full kit including sound etc etc etc, others have grip cams etc, and good qaulity cameras....

Then we need to choose which event we should film or we can take it in turns at Directing etc.

Just an idea..and early days, these things never seem to happen and no-doubt this thread will get forgotten, but the general video making skills on here are pretty high...and would improve even further with team effort i reckon...

What do you reckon?????

Si

I always fancied doing this in an unofficial way at JAE by getting a couple of people together that could do interviews with members about their cars.

One camera on the interview, another on the car going round as they talk and blending them together in the edit.

yep I'm in, fantastic idea, I'm not too hot on the editing yet really, Dan has proved very good with that but I would like to throw in ideas for when ever it is edited for which ever event.

It's always cool to see the same thing from different angles in the same sequence so should be good :)

Yep I agree on the 'putting ideas in' my pitch on this would be as Pete mentioned a multi camera set up for say for instance running up the strip at Pod, grip cam near wheel arch, shot from the stand (on tripod) camera further up track (on tripod) to catch last moment and the time score, in car camera on sucker mount, and of course a full camera crew (camera sound and Interviewer) to catch quick Vox Pop interview wid the contender and film the start and the wheel spin like you did Tom on Santa-Pod vid..that was awesome.

Then we get reaction shots of the people on the terraces, after and cheat it in with the edit lol children dropping ice cream. (this is just one filming scenario for an example of one of the many componants we can put together towards making a gr8 vid with a team of us talented folk he he

Only prob is getting the grip cams onto the next car in time, i guess we would have to have at least three on the go and someone would be in charge of getting them back and quickly affixing them...thats just one scenario....and JAE is next i guess and thats a different scenario with a different set of challenges..soz about my overexcited rant...this kind of thing makes me Cu* in my knickers ha ha

dibs on casting the female stars and extras

lol....I did manage to get some great footage once of Miss Ultimate street Car a few years ago, ill try and 'get it up' on the private section full nudity ha ha, and the viewfinder steamed up literally, whilst i was bending down doing low angle shots in the press area, there were about 1000 heavy breathing transfixed blokes behind me, bit scary lol...The funniest bit was when the blokes stripped off on Mr Ultimate Street car, i looked about me and all the photographers had gone and i felt bit gay being the only one still filming lol, but i felt i needed it to make it diverse...some saw the funny side, but most of the crowd overreacted and were uncomfortable...i just filmed their reactions etc and it was well funny... :D

really think this is a good idea as well.

having something done to 'pro' standards would be first class.

Actually, if it was going onto a DVD, maybe there could be clips of all the events attended in the year, like a video diary. that would let people who can't get to certain events a chance to see them.

also, if it is on DVD, you could even put stills photographs together as a gallery of each event. look very nice on large screen TV's.

I am sure Ed could do some nice DVD cover graphics and especially if he can cast the talent for the covers :)
