OK, car has been stood not used for well over a month. Have just replaced the cambelt pully. Im pretty sure I got all the timing right. The fan belt is back how it should be also.

The problem. Battery completely dead, wont hold charge.

The bigger problem. Took me and a mate about an hour to coax the engine into turning over from a jump. I know theres enough power to jump her from my mates car, as ive done it many times before. When I eventually got the engine started, masses of black smoke coming out the exhaust, also the engine really sounds bad and lumpy. I have to rev to stop the car from cutting out also.

Any ideas, and what should i do?

Cheers.

Which pulley do you mean?

Could you have got the timing 180 degrees out? I presume you know the crank revolves twice for every one revolution of the cams?

Thanks guys, ill double check the timing first, but i did do the 2 revolutions test on the crank pully to see if the timing pullies were aligned and they were. Maybe the white lines are set wrong on the pulies?
