Removing Aircon..permanently..question?

The belt will be massively too long. Even if you could find a shorter belt the exact right length, you may well find that the belt path hits something else on the engine.

It would be easier to leave the pump in place, don't plumb it in and leave it de-cliutched IMHO.

Back from the dead

just been removing rest of pipes in engine bay on my car today. got all pipes from bulkhead to front of car, nothing left to take out from engine bay.

i have not taken the air con pump out as i dont know what to do with getting a shorter belt. seems pointless having it on car if its not getting used. must be a fair bit of weight to save.

need to get the stuff behind the dashboard now. anyone have any idea how much work involved? do you have to take the dashboard out to get to aircon unit. i have removed lower glovebox and no airbag above there so can get in. removed the airvent pipe that is in way. the white box looks a big part, what is it for. BTW all the dash panles are out too. is it a big job if i have to remove the dashboard.

where do i go from here?

thanks :violin:

IIRC thats one of the first things i fitted back to the bare shell...... I understood that its also integrated into the heater system, and couldnt be separated...

I got the shorter belt from Arnout...
