Dave F
Just went to renew my road tax online, and as I got to the last few steps it stated that due to the budget the price online may vary to that of the price on the reminder. Now we all know it has gone up slightly, but if I take the reminder to the post office (two minutes from my workplace) will they honour the £175 and not charge the £180 as on the website. I know its only a fiver and I probably used more than that in petrol on a blat earlier on but I hate giving the government more money than I have to. Anyone know? ivan
Very doubtful mate. I suspect they'll just say that the price has gone up due to the budget. Must be worth a try though.

Class One
Regardless of what is on your renewal notice, you will have to pay the revised rate of duty as per the Budget increase.

Dave F
Yeah I've just read through it... "The rates of duty were correct when printed if they change in the budget a new rate will be payable, the earliest you can apply for a licence is 15 04 07" Swines..
