osso
I went out this lunch time to check the engine oil level and noticed fine air bubbles on the dipstick!! surely this isnt normal? The dipstick level is half way between the two markers, however i am concerned about the bubbles. Are bubbles on dipstick a sign of low oil, or is this a sign of something more serious?! Cheers James
Barry
Oh no! Not the dreaded bubble's on the oil on the dipstick one! Thats not good, looks like your going to need a complete engine rebuild, new turbo's, brake pads, tyres and a complete re-spray!!!! Ok, maybe not brake pads! Alex
Is it just the odd bubble in the oil or is it actually like a foam on the surface?
osso
It was just the odd one or two big bubbles, but there were quite a lot of microscopic bubbles, in the oil and i mean tiny. I had to unbolt the exhaust valve cover and had to reseat it on saturday because it wasnt seated on the exhaust valve cover gasket correctly!!! Wonder whether that could've been the cause of the microscopic bubbles?
Alex
Airation occurs normally I believe. I would suggest it's just a feature of the oil having been in use recently.
