Stonkin
Guys and Gals, i have a 3M projector for sale. Ian R has the same model off me which he used for JAE last year and was very happy with. Please see pics below for model details. It comes with a remote. The only thing i will say is that i do not know how long the bulb life is remaining. Impossible to tell. Obviously it will be sold working, but if it was to die a week or month later, then it would be down to you to replace the bulb. I would also prefer to meet someone buying it rather than post it for obvious reasons. Looking for £
Ian W
how bright is it? (in lumens) EDIT: not interested btw, just curious and it might help
Stonkin
how bright is it, er. You turn it on, point it at a wall, and you can clearly see any image. Erm, no idea mate. Its several years old to be fare, but awesome for films or games

Stonkin
I will say that Garetheves was originally asking me about this, i have pm'd a couple of times but not had a reply. Not sure if he is interested or not?
chilli
contrast 200:1? surely not? is it a native widescreen? I think it's worth pointing out this is really a presentation projector for computers, not a home cinema projector (although it will work in a limited fashion as such) good price though, someone will be in for a bargain projector
carl0s
contrast 200:1? surely not? I don't think that's unusual for LCD. As I remember, it's DLP which gives the higher contrast ratios. The fact that it's XGA is nice though. They usually give you the lamp hours somewhere in the menu system. As for the limited fashion - I used a Toshiba DLP XGA projector on a VGA-output Freeview box (you know the ones.. those that are sold for plugging into computer monitors), and it was fabulous. They usually have composite inputs too, and (in my case anyway) S-Video, so I had the CCTV stuff plugged in there too, and with the aid of the Freeview box could do PiP. DLP blergh lol Hey I'm not knocking a presentation projector, still very good for TV/films/games. But it won't be able to do native widescreen 16/9 or even cinemascope 2.66:1 that's all (oh and it probably won't be able to take component video (as per dvd format)) direct either other than that, any projector is better than none and for that price you can't go miles wrong
carl0s
Must just be the old LCD stuff that has such low contrast ratio then. I remember the Hitachi one I had hold of for a while also had very low contrast ratio. But even this Sony LCD one only has 300:1 contrast: http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=243059&sourceid=2012
Stonkin
ok, your confusing me now guys but as said above, its a good price for a pretty good bit of kit. I've used it many times on the xbox/PS2 and i have to say has provided lots of entertainment. Anyone that is interested and wants to see it working, just let me know. I havent mentioned this to Ian, but also perhaps pm IanR to get his thoughts on it?

chilli
it's probably a bit specialist for here, ebay might give better results, wider audience my 2 year old projector is 700:1 contrast and I thought that was low at the time!
Stonkin
hmm, maybe. Lots of people on here that like gaming though, and this would certainly liven things up a bit
chilli
yeah for sure, gt4 on the ps2 (love the ring) is amazing on a projector and good sound system, can't even imagine how good it might be with a newer gen gaming machine

Todd
Think it'll be the price of the bulb that may be putting folk off mate, £250-£300 for a new bulb alone Had a projector similar to this a while back and was great with the PS2 and GT off the wall
