Greenauto
Back me up on this one guys. You've parked your pride and joy outside the flat and are inside havin some dinner. You see two kids cycling up to your car and stopping. They both bend down out of sight and are on the other side of the car so can't be seen. Do you A. Think nothing of it, they must just be admiring your wheels B. Keep an eye on them but say nothing, at the end of the day if they want your dust caps they'll take them anyways Or C. Bang on the window and tell the nasty wee sh*tes to b*gger off before I come out there and break their fingers so they can't ever pinch another set. CNUTS! As I'm sure you can all guess I chose the latter. My girlfriend has told me that it was wrong to do so and I was told that since I've gotten the Supra I've become overly protective of it and far more aggressive. What would you have done? and has anyone else contracted protective rage? p.s. anyone know the best brand of locking/tamper proof dusties? p.p.s is it me or are kids these days gettin worse
ivan
C every time. Ask the g/f if she'd mind if you ignored her if she were being molested like that...
Vicky
I probably would of just gone to my car and pretend to get something out, would of put them off without upsetting them!
Stonkin
yes mate, kids are getting far worse! just look at the gun issues in london. Think how a few generations down the line will be! I totally agree with you and would have done the same thing. What if you came out the next morning and one of them had dragged their bike down the side of it? To a lot of people, a car is a car, gets you from a to b. I'm afraid i'm not like that. my car is my pride and joy and i will always do my upmost to keep t*ssers away from it. Sadly last time this happened, 3 youngish girls walked past my car while i was looking out the window and decided to bend my wing mirror back! I went straight out and had a go, of course they were very apologetic, next morning i came out and the wing mirror was smashed to pieces! the door, bonnet window and wing were literaly covered in blood and it was all over the pavement for about 100m and then disappeared at the entrance to a local park. No doubt one of their boyfriends, but he must of seriously hurt himself, pitty! So yes it can come back on you, but i would still do the same again. Best advice is to nick the dust caps on with a pair of plyers and keep em in the car for when you check the tyre pressures.

edd_t
i've stood there watching them before, they soon got the idea. dont get the antitheft ones, they just cut them off or rip the thread. keep rubber caps on, and just put ya chrome ones on for special occasions, thats what i do
Havard
Is there a D option where you pick up a golf club or a pice of 3 x 2 and chase the little b@stards down the street!! H.

Stevie Boy
I remember when i was living in North London one Sat morning, hearing my neighbour/bloke across the street yelling and shouting. Went to the window to see what all the fuss was about, he'd spotted a teenager on a BMX had just nicked the valve caps off the new rims he'd just put on his Audi TT, he'd run outta the house so fast sporting just a pair of pants the kid didn't even get a chance to pedal far before he fell off his BMX with a little shove from the neighbour. He then grabbed the kid by the scruff of his neck, dragged him back to his car let him go and yelled at him "put those f**king valve caps back on"........ .......I sware i almost felt the embarassment for the kid, he looked so humiliated. Sure enough put em on under the watchfull eye of this huge Turkish dude in his pants. I did wonder if that was such a good idea cos i'd think thats the sorta thing you'd think would lead to a load of key scratches on your motor but he must have put soo much fear into him even a BMX weilding member of the "Hoodie" brigade never touched his car or the range of Porsches he went on to own after the TT. Greenauto
Liking your thinking H! Think I'll be going with your suggestion Simon. Was gonna say I guess I maybe am over sensitive when it comes to the Sup, but no i won't admit it. I've saved up for it, taken the time to find a nice one and I'm not gonna have it ruined. My girlfriend says its cause I'm from the country and town folk just don't think the same. Personally when I was a kid if I'd seen such a beautiful car with nice dust caps I'd have said wow, hopefully one day I'll have a car like that and rode off. I wouldn't do anything to other folks stuff I wouldn't want done to mine. Maybe Vicky is right and I should have stayed calm. I just hope I don't have an incident like Stonkin and get up tommorrow to find bits of car everywhere.
Greenauto
Brilliant Stevie! I'm just down the road from the police station so me jumpin around the pavement in my pants at 6:30 in the evening whilst swearing at two lads might not be the best idea. Doubt if they'd do it again, not the best rep to have though Lol!

Chewie
I was walking back with a mate to my car parked in the a fairly exposed spot and I saw a lad with his girlfriend standing next to my Supe. The girl was arms folded and looked as if she was fairly apprehensive about what her chap was about to do. Then he knelt down and started to unscrew my alloy dust caps. About 10 yards away I pressed my key fob and the lights flash and the central locking disengages. He jumped up quite shocked as he realised he's been caught red handed. He was very sorry and was kiss-assing for England. We 'made' him refit the dust cap. LOL!

Homer
It's not just the cars that get this. Bloody kids nicked the lights off my mountain bike tonight outside the supermarket.
Homer
Yep, see attached for what I found on one of my cars tonight... b*stards! Was that outside your house? Don't you have a 1:1 driveway?
jazz1
well good thing im lucky my brother has a low drive so i can park my supe there all the time as my drive is way to high, theres no way i will park it on the road
Kranz
High velocity rifle with scope???? I've found that 35Kg of German Shepherd keeps the chavs at bay And I never park it on the road.
Greenauto
Thats pretty shocking Michael! I live next to a pub and have only seen that once but the guy that did it was pissed out of his mind. No excuse I know but you expect it here but not if the car is on your drive. I tend to make sure the cars no where near the pub at the weekends just to be on the safe side. My girlfriend had her wipers nicked recently. I went and got her a new set from Halfrauds not thinking. Then the next morning the new set were gone too. Apparently its quite a common thing these days, at least thats what the sales guy told me when he saw I was back for a second time. Time for me to get a lock-up me thinks ! michael
b*stards! Was that outside your house? Don't you have a 1:1 driveway? Yep, right outside - I drove it on Saturday and didn't notice the marks, haven't looked at it and then tonight I spotted those so probably a Saturday night thing. That one parks on the road outside, the 1:1 drive has a couple of other cars on, ones I don't want the pikeys to abuse - the neighbours park in a similar manner so I might see if they got "wandered over" in the morning. Sadly the respectable area I live in is used as a short-cut from a less desirable area so we get a bit of passing foot traffic (cars can't cut through but damn mopeds do). dangerous brain
Its a shitter when you just cant trust people (and its not just kids). My supes wing mirror got kicked off on my garage forecourt across from my house once. I never slept properly again as long as I lived in that house if I even sensed as much as a fox outside I was at the window peering out. Pabs
I still think those flame throwers under the side-skirts sounds like a peachy deal to me..... Easy to identify the thieves afterwards too - the 10yr old bald kids with a shocked look on their faces will be the ones to blame
