Class One
My wife and I have decided that we need some "us" time, so we're packing our daughter off and we've got a long weekend available in mid May (infact the weekend of the Dragonball but that's a no-no!) We're looking for somewhere within 2-3hrs flying time, a city break with sunshine. It's go to be an interesting place as we'd like to explore the place outside our hotel room. It's not a budget specific weekend either, but it has to be reasonable. Any ideas?

Class One
Barcelona I'll do you a good deal on one of our jets I'm thinking Barcelona too. Wifey was looking at Rome, but I think Barca has more to offer. PM me a price on a flight Steve, I'll just go and get my defibrillator on charge. MrAngry
Paypal ok? At least you aren't offering Western Union Until recently the Beckhams were using one a couple of times a week from Madrid. I'm sure a man of your means could manage a one off

DaveK
I'd say Rome has plenty to offer - we're going there in mid-May, and there seems to be loads to see in the old town. Did Barcelona over new year - that's also an interesting place (although the Gaudi (sp?) house was a load of tat in my opinion).

markssupra
Venice was nice, went there in march for 4 days. Plenty of places to stop for a drink. Was told before we went that it smells a bit, but that must be when its really hot. Depends what you want, I found it really peaceful and relaxing with no traffic noise. matt k
Rome or Athens (i know this is longer than 2-3 hours) both should offer good weather and Historical culture.

ivan
Whats the matter with DB'07 then Doug? You seemed to enjoy it last year - especially when you started humping the "compere".
Class One
Whats the matter with DB'07 then Doug? You seemed to enjoy it last year - especially when you started humping the "compere". I did. Nessa has sprung this on me last minute. She wants a break away from everything for some "us" time. I think if we went on the DB then there wouldn't be alot of "us" time. DaveK
Monaco/South of France Gaz. I'd rate Barcelona over South of France. Haven't been to Monaco, and although Cannes / Nice are OK (nice weather) I felt there was more to do in Barcelona.
