Chiefgroover
I like to add another monitor to a computer that can display a different programme on it. So two outputs, two monitors and independant displays. Anyone know how to do this, and what video card i need. The "other" monitor will run powerpoint all day long. Dash Rendar
I've got a dual display set up. Most modern graphics cards do this, so long as they're not ultra low budget. Assuming Windows OS, just go into Display Properties and click the option to 'extend your desktop' over multiple monitors. Then you can just drag windows/apps from one screen to another. I use this setup for developing. Now I'm used to it, I couldn't live without it!
Robbie
As far as Im aware you'll only get dual/triple head graphics cards.( or buy 2 graphics cards) These split the desktop over 2 screens but (e.g. 2096 x 1280 as apposed to 1024 1280 )as long as the software you want is maximised in the screen you want it will maximise to fit only that screen and leave you to carry on with whatever in the other, if you see what i mean. DamanC
Nearly Any modern card will do that fella
Lucas
Easy mate. You need a Card with dual outputs on it and most have this now. If its not got games or anything for high graphics then something cheap would be fine. Once you have it installed then plug in both monitors and right click on your desktop and go to properties then settings. All done in there. Hope that helps
snuffkins
Also a lot of the dual head cards tend to have one dvi output and one vga, so if both of your displays were vga you might need a dvi to vga converter but they're pennies. Either that or hope that one of your displays is dvi and vga compatible , most of the newer ones are these days.
