Supradk84
Well here it is. Decided to go and change some fluid on my supra. Motoroil, filter, gearoil, ect.... To make a long story short. I never got around to change the gearoil! I buggered around with that f*****g oilfilter for 3 or 4 hours, if not more. I have never in my life, had so much trouble with af filter. Holy christ it was stuck!!! /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_shock.gif Had 3 differnt tools. None could do the job! After some time the filter was beaten like at flat coke can... THEN the time came, it was looooossseeee!!! Se pics, how the filter ended up. Has anyone ever tryied to remove af filter that was stuck, like it has been super-glued on!? http://imajr.com/th/Photo-0400_16555.jpg http://imajr.com/th/Photo-0399_16556.jpg http://imajr.com/th/Photo-0398_16557.jpg http://imajr.com/th/Photo-0397_16558.jpg BTW, can anyone tell me, what used to be here. Looks like the bolts are broken off. There are two of these. one on each side. http://imajr.com/th/Photo-0394000000000000_16559.JPG
ChrisSZ
LOL:) I ended up with one that was literally torn to pieces once!! I had to get it off with a hammer and an old screwdriver after I'd tried just about everything including ripping most of the filter itself off the base first!! The rubber sticks because of the heat. Its needs the oil on the seal to create a seal also..
Homer
They're a right bugger to change, eh?
Ric
the snapped bolts are the crash reinforment bar bolts
Bob
I've given up on doing oil changes myself. Rather than fart about with the hassle of draining the oil, changing the filter, applying plasters to my knuckles, getting rid of the old oil down the council tip, rolling around on the driveway only to find next-door's cat has shat in the gravel again, etc. - I'd much rather take it to Toyota and hand over a a few notes
Supradk84
I couldn't belive it would be that hard. But got the job done... Ric
its just a steel bar what goes across the front of the car ala: http://www.carbonangel.co.uk/images/cooler/DSCF0905.JPG Sorry no close up pictures, you would need the bar then remove the snapped studs with some extractors

Kranz
I got one of these after losing a large amount of skin when the old fabric strap type filter wrench snapped. http://www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/02/p1764002_l.jpg Works a treat!

Kranz
Screwfix. £8.19. Spend over £45 and postage is free, so you'd have to buy

markssupra
LOL, changed oil and filter saturday as well, took about 1 1/2 hrs including jacking it up. Filter was still a pig though not as much of a pig as yours by the looks of it.
