RICHARDA
For the record if doing a track day with car in manual mode can you select 4th gear on a long straight? Or are you only able to select first 3 gears whilst locked in manu mode? Ta Rich
Barry
Oh jesus, this has been covered hundreds of times mate! While in MANU mode, OD (4th) is not available. Switching it on and off will not do anything. So yes, only the first 3 gears are available.
Geezabloke
Rich Whilst driving in 4th (OD) if you select man mode it will stay in 4th until you put your foot down, however once it changes out into 3rd it will not change back up whilst in man.....Same goes for if you select man mode when below 4th, it will not change up. From personal exp ive found that usuing the auto box in standard mode and selecting gears as i want them works best.......but everyone has their own preferences? matt
Keep OD on , but use Manu mode............ then when you need 4th gear , switch Manu off. Switch manu on again when you need 3rd. Easy huh?! I made it easier by moving the Manu and OD switches on to the steering wheel .........
Geezabloke
I made it easier by moving the Manu and OD switches on to the steering wheel ......... [/b] Matt, can you give me some more details on the steering wheel buttons? Is it standard wheel? where are they mounted and how do they operate? Jake
I've sat in Matt's car to try the wheel. It's a very cool Momo wheel, small but not too much so. Looks like it came from a pukka race car. I've got the wheel from a tiptronic Supra on my RZ and I'd like to get a couple of the buttons wired up like Matt has done.
Supra ST Myster
Jake If you like i can sort that out for you?? Sorted CJs car so that his OD button is now his torque convertor switch which is rather cool, his OD switch is now relocated to one of the blanks under the stereo.. Terminator
I would not mind a look at this too Matt. All ways thought the buttons were in the wrong place. I am switching buttons all the time, so some on the SW would be fantastic.

Chris Wilson
With a fairly stock auto there are no UK *race* circuits where you will need 4th gear.
