Kittyclaws
I'm having problems with Norton 2007. I brought this PC new last year which came with Norton 2006, and had no problems with it, but when it came to renew my subs, I decided to go for the 2007 as it came with Norton works, but since i have gonr onto 2007, it has slowed my Pc down a fair bit, but what annoys me the most is when I have been online for a fair while, I suddenly lose control of functions. For exp, I cant seem to click on anything to get a pop up window (saving a picture or pdf file etc) and the start menu won't come up at times too, so unable to turn pc off, so I have to pull the plug. Has anyone else got 2007 and have problems, or heard of this before?
MrRalphMan
Ditched Norton ages ago. I did breifly go to a free one, but now use Zonealarm Security Suite 7 for all my needs. Norton seems to kill the system it is running on. Particually when browsing lots of porn.

Mmmm, the phrase Nail and head comes to mind lol. I have heard that Norton is very hungry and uses a lot of the pc's power etc
Steve
I deleted Norton years ago as it slowed the PC down considerably. Have now moved to McAfee. That seems to be ok.
Kittyclaws
I also forgot to add that I'm sure Norton is going to shorten my hard drives life span, the bloody don't stopp spinning for ages at times. Guess i'll have to put up with it for a year, I won't be using them again thats for sure
Pabs
norton problem? Surely norton IS the problem....... Ok ok - i used to swear by Norton - but only up to the 2004 version - since then they've been processor hungry and sh*te. AVG (free) all the way for me

Angarak
I used to like Norton Internet Security 2004/2005 versions, but 2006 version was slow, consumed lots of resources, caused problems like the ones you mention, and I was fed up of having to reboot my computer after a LiveUpdate to find something wasnt installed, or was corrupted which required reinstall the b*stard thing again and going through all the updated again. I've now been using F-Secure for over a year and Im very pleased with it. The spam email filters are very good.
Kittyclaws
After my year is up, I will have a look at Zonealarm or McAfee
