Golddigga
Hi. I have seen some cars where there has been mesh put into the front skirt under the number plate and under the indicators. Is this easy to do and does it cause any problems like restricted air flow?
AndrewOW
I've only just had some mesh (Ripspeed) inserted into my front bumper etc, and so far I've not noticed any difference in performance. I've always thought the stock bumper was the best one, but there was something missing. Now its sorted! The bodyshop I use said it was a pig of a job, cos so many bits have to come off the front to get to the area. Totally worthwhile though, I hope you think! Edit: £30 for 2x Ripspeed stainless steel competition mesh, and £130 fitting. Nice one.
Ric
lol just the bumper to take off, bodyshop must have done it the hard way

Ric
i would have done it him for free lol, 10 minutes to remove the bumper
jamesmark
£130 fitting???? Jesus they seen you coming, you have been ripped off big style
Elmo
How is the mesh attached to the bumper?
jazz1
they probably took half the bumper of the top bolts and side ones easy done than said, you got ripped of big time
Elmo
I wonder if mesh could be fitted into the rear air ducts, that would look good!
imi
doesnt the mesh interfere with the cooling of the RAD and the SMIC?
AndrewOW
Oh it seems like I've been ripped off! Ah well it was worth it (I think)! If I'd known someone could've done it for me (relatively locally) on here I would've asked. Bummer. Here's a photo of the rear air intakes I had done too:
Ric
doesnt the mesh interfere with the cooling of the RAD and the SMIC? hardly i would have thought, unless you put some really thin gauge stuff in
AndrewOW
doesnt the mesh interfere with the cooling of the RAD and the SMIC? Not that I've noticed, and I had a spat up to 140leptons today, and very quickly I must add, too. Everything's fine, even slow driving in town. The mesh is quite open and I got it mounted so it sort of directs air upwards into the rad area. I can't see it makes all that difference really. swandip
Had mine done in stainless steel mesh with no differance in performance at all.
Golddigga
Whether you were ripped off or not mate the end result looks good. I am a technical numptie of the highest order and would probably have forked the dough out to have it fitted. However, after your useful post I know better now Thanks
