cheekymonkey
Hi All I would like to be able to whip off my front bumper to have a fiddle and check out the state of my stock SMIC, however I have heard that bodykit bumpers are normally "bonded" to the car... not being totally sure what this means, can someone explain? Will I be able to take it off and get it back on OK with normal workshop tools? FYI my car http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=55440&d=1176363936 Cheers
hoff
All depends I think on what kit and who you got it from. My Bomex bolted straight on and therefore will come straight of and can be bolted straight back on again.
Jake
How are kits generally fitted? Badly.

Supragaz
Cool, did you do it at all? No Mate but have seen how my old one was fitted on (Do-Luck) and this one appears to be the same kind of fitting. Good Luck
DamanC
Most are bolted on and off although it seems a good chunk of them are just not quite right
cheekymonkey
Thanks for the hints. I'll have a good yank this weekend and see if I can pull it off (oo-er)
DamanC
Good luck, takes alot of time though. Lights will need to come out, there will be/should be 2 bolts inside either wing and a few underneith if it has an undertray. Not to mention some in the wheel arch

Sounds very similar to when I did the same on my Audi, didn't take too long but the hardest job was getting everything lined up again afterwards! Willson
I would have thought you could see the SMIC without taking the bumper off. I guess it's a bit further in than with a stock bumper. Tried using a torch?
cheekymonkey
Been so busy since I got the Supe - trouble with working in London with 4 hours commuting each day! Plan to have a chat with some of you guys tomorrow at the Pod, I'm sure I will find it useful!
