MONKEYmark
just fitted my first ever set of brake discs and pads.never done before so thought i would give it a try.thought i would give it a try on nissan primera beast lol. was not a bad job to do.was a bit dirty job.put a bit of wd40 on bolts and took me about 4.5 hours at steady pace to sort it out. the discs held in with just wheel nuts.some cars seem to have discs held in with screws. will feel more confident to fit new discs to supra and some cw fast road pads. also put some new spark plugs in and some red x in plugs and petrol.got a bit of a small oil leak at back of engine to find next time and also change oil and air filter. i fitted a few bits to cars before like starter motor on astra, boost and egt gauges and fmic on supra.good to save money and learn how to fix cars.all bits were cheap as chips too.feels better to know brakes not grating against metal. Brake Front Discs £15 each Brake Pads £12.95 Oil Filter £3 Air Filter £6.95 plugs x4 £10 supra needs some new discs as its been stood a while and brakes seized on.that should be fun. was ok day pottering about on car.and learned something new wonder how much labour it would cost from a garage.anyone else into getting hands dirty or would you sooner take to a garage and pay them to sort it. Bobbeh
If you took it to a dealer you'd be looking at 3 hours work for 80£ an hour... local garage would probably do it cheaper. I am going to try and change my pads and disks allround soon... whenever the parts arrive

Plus I can afford to have it sitting around in bits these days
merckx
I've just done the front discs and pads on the van. The nearside was stuck on solid with corrosion and I had to chop it off with the angle grinder. I'm doing the clutch at the weekend, the Peugeot garage offered to do it for £639! Costing me about £260 for dealer parts.
