Guest smiler6310
So my pride and joy (red uk spec tt) makes a small blue cloud initially when I start her up in the morning, this then clears and she runs normally ie no smoke unless I floor it, then it also gives a small puff of blue smoke initially. A REME mechanic says its the valve rings leaking, thats its not a problem and alot of supras suffer from this! Is this true? Does anybody suffer with this? JustGav
Hmmm, he might be referring to stem seals, in which case yes, around 100k they need replacing.
ads274
sounds like stem seals, a lot do go don,t think its a major job;) I've heard its a very major job. Around £1000 unless you do it yourself? Could be wrong though. I hope so as it seems it happens to every supra sooner or later
ads274
Hmmm, he might be referring to stem seals, in which case yes, around 100k they need replacing. That's interesting. I know two people who have had this problem and their mileages were around 50k and 30k unless they were both clocked but i don't think so. Could it not be down to time rather than mileage? (With some supras getting on for 14 years old now)
