Audi 80 stereo wiring

Afternoon all :)

My problem is thus:

At the moment my audi 80 has a sony tape deck in which has a permanent live feed requiring me to manually switch it off when i get out the car.

I want to fit my Alpine head unit but when i plug it in it's getting no power at all. I also want the Alpine to have an ignition feed rather than a permanent live as the Alpine takes an age to turn off manually.

Ideas? :D

Yup, connect one wire to the perm feed, and one to the an igntion feed.

Usually the wires are red and yellow.

right

Am i right in assuming that i'll need to take an ignition feed from elsewhere since it doesn't look like there's one in the car's stereo wiring loom? (or am i just blind and there is one, just can't see it?)

Upon closer inspection my Alpine had spade connectors in the yellow and red wires on it's loom anyway along with a a female connector on the iso connector end for this very purpose.

It was actually a piss easy job and i've no idea why i waited so long to do it.

No more listening to my ipod through a 'tape adaptor' any more!!!!!

:nana:
