Lukeyboy2k
As scooter says i'd get a quality hardtail bike. As long as you know what to look for and ask the right questions then fleabay is your friend. Hardtail womens stumpjumpers can be had for a snip of the original price, and providing most of the components don't need replacing who's going to notice the difference between a bike that weighs 28lbs and one that weighs 26lbs? Kona IMO are trendy and slightly different to the mainstream - I always fancied a Kona Kula before I got my stumpy.
Supragal
I've just been told I'm not allowed to spend that much on a bike haha I've searched ebay for the old skool bikes I like and nothing... theres one killer V thats MASSIVE like 21" frame or something. I might look at last years models or something. Don't get what you mean by the difference between 26lb and 28lb though??
Lukeyboy2k
Don't get what you mean by the difference between 26lb and 28lb though?? The next years bike is normally very slightly lighter than the previous years model. Personally, I wouldn't notice much difference in performance riding a bike that weighs 12.7kg as opposed to a bike that weighs 11.8kg. I'm sure not many people would unless they were semi-professional or better. Unless you are really serious and competitive you should be able to pick up a quality bike (in very good working order with nothing that'll need replacing soon) in the correct size for under £400. toyotasuprauk
Me and the girlfriend have just bought bikes for leisurely rides and pick them up on Saturday, mine was only £185 (diamondback) but it looks pretty good to me! I'd never spend £1500 on a bike cant seeing it being much different unless you’re doing some sort of timed competition or seriously into biking on massive scale. It's the difference between a horrible uncomfortable ride that you never want to repeat compared with fun that makes you want to go out again
