Greenauto
Well guys and gals I face a Dilemma and I need your help. To explain a little. I live and work at the moment in Arbroath. The jobs boring with no real career development. Pretty much the only thing that holds me here is that its closer to my girlfriends than when I used to stay up in Peterhead (100 mile north approx. of Arbroath) About a month back I went for an interview with an oil company in Aberdeen(half way between Arbroath and Peterhead). The interview went well and I felt pretty good about it. They told me they'd let me know that week. The weekend came and I'd heard nothing. That weekend I was due to pick up my Supra. Not even worrying about the job I went and collected the car. Then the next week got asked along for another interview with them. went to the interview this morning and was offered the job. Its a better job with better prospects and more chance of moving up the company. Problem is it only pays around a grand a year more than I'm on now! What do I do? drive almost a hundred miles a day up and down, putting milage on the car? Try to find a lock up and a cheap reliable commuter? or sell the supra and buy something less gas guzzling but utterly boring?[sAD][/sAD] This is feckin annoyin! the job was crap but everythin was goin smooth, now this has come along and my head is total mince! What should I do?
Havard
Tough one that!! If you do all that travelling then you'll end up worse off financially than you are at the moment. For me I would only consider a job that moves me forward from the beginning.!! The other option is to put off your Supra craving for a couple of years?? Will the company not improve their offer to you? H.
Greenauto
Hmm really unsure! I might be able to get the company to up their offer. If I sell the Sup then I'm gonna loose money on it. Plus I really don't wanna do that as I really do love the damn thing. The new job will give me more scope for development and job progression. but its a long way away(distance). If it were on my door step like my current work then I'd be taking it like a shot! I've done the hundred mile round-trip commute before and If I can avoid it I will Any one with any more wise words? Greenauto
BUMP I know the logical thing would be to turn it down and wait for something closer but what if that doesn't happen? Yesterday I was all woohooo I've been offered the job but today I'm all god I'm gonna have to turn it down. Feelin pretty down about the whole thing now:(
Rickeh
Maybe you and your gf could get a place in Aberdeen?
