silvershark44
Finnally after 3 weeks the mechanics just rang me up to say the rear wheel bearing and hub have been changed!!! Yay! And after driving mums mazda demio (yes that was the slowest car on gran turismo) for 3 weeks, I suddenly remember how good it is to drive a real car again!! RobSheffield
Nice one! Bearing gone so badly that hub had gone? Thats 4 or 5 members with similar problems, yours was nearside too like mine wasnt it?

Thats 4 or 5 members with similar problems, yours was nearside too like mine wasnt it? Yep exactly that!! I think this should class this as a common problem now. As I had a hell of a time diagnosing it, maybe a sticky should be made for it somewhere.
RobSheffield
Larger/non standard wheels or not? Always seems to be the nearside Thread here

SUPRASUZUKI
So, at what sort of miles are these going? I'm thinking prevention rather than cure. Mine's got 91,000 miles on it, should I be thinking about it??
RobSheffield
Mine has 46,000 so i dont know if its mileage related! Toyota changed the rear wheel bearing during/after production to a one piece bearing which might or might not be a sign that they foresaw problems! silvershark44
70K approx, maybe a little lower, need to calculate it because its been converted. Definitely sounds like this should be a sticky. I made about 4 threads about this problem, and no one on here could give me a answer as to what it is. If anyone wants to make a sticky, please feel free to use the video I posted of the noise.
Jezz
I tend to agree. Sold a lot of n/s hubs lately.

That's poor for a bearing failure to occur that early. I'll put my head back in the sand for a bit I think......
