speed camera detectors

I used to have one of the original origin blues. It broke, so I now have road angel plus. I preferred the origin and wish I'd bought the new one of those (although given that it broke twice, once in warranty and once out of warranty I'm not sure how well they are made).

got the snooper Neo6 I think, quite an old one, get the occasional false alarm, but haven't got any points yet since owning it, touch wood, maybe I'm just lucky when I'm out and about[GRIN][/GRIN]

Haven't come across a van/car yet where it's warned me in advance, so must be lucky. Which reminds me, I need to update my subscription

I have a bell euro 550 but it goes off all the time so I don't use it much

You're better off with a GPS one

Didn't even know you could get non-gps these days, but agree - definitely get a gps one.

Of course, my road angel plus is available for a very reasonable price....

I still have the original origin blue great bit of kit will probably go for another one as well because the speaker is starting to go on mine and the cradle keeps losing contact.

Funnily enough - it was the speaker which died on mine the first time! The last time it broke, it was because it would never update via the modem and since it was out of warranty they wanted £25 just to look at it.

I thought the database on the RoadAngel I had was excellent but the unit itself was like a rugby ball, the Origin b2 I had before it was a much nicer package but didn't sit in the cradle very well and had lots of wires - if I was buying one now I'd probably go for the RoadPilot MicroGo or a SatNav and use their camera database, I'd also invest in a garage door opener that also happens to jam laser guns but that's naughty.

Or do you want an actual detector rather than one that knows where the cameras are?

My Garmin SatNav has the DB of fixed & known mobile camera positions, but in terms of detecting them as they're fired at you..... I don't use one.

By the time it's detected a laser has been aimed at you.... it's too late.....

(My Supra does have some kind of Japanese detector build in but without a manual I cannot tell what it does or how well :))
