cheekymonkey
I am currently running with a 2nd de-cat and and stainless steel straight through pipe with no silencer, so only the first cat is in place. To go full BPU I will need to remove the first cat as well, but will this make the car far too loud? If so, is it possible to add in a silencer to a custom exhaust system? I have no idea about this sort of thing

Anyone else done this?

cheekymonkey
do you have a picture Not yet - but I am taking the car to a mates garage on the weekend to get the car up on a lift, to have a good old poke around and take some pervy pics! Supragaz
James, The Custom Exhaust was on the car before import so it will be some obscure Jap make. I bet it would sound amazing with it fully decatted I have added a couple more tunnel vids for others to see how it sounds at the moment (maybe James can upload them here? ) Gaz
SteveR
S7EVE's TT Supra, which was previously owned by CJ (the blue one that was at Dragonball last year), has a straight-through pipe and no cats - it's pretty dammed loud even on tickover, and WOT through tunnells.... wow . Someone might have a video of it if you're lucky.

I agree it would sound "amazing" however I don't want to take the mickey re attracting attention to get pulled over by the police or anything like that. I daresay I will get a decat pipe (CW?) and just see how it goes. If it really is too loud I could probably get something done, but would be such a shame to have to ditch the pipe if I don't have do. Your vids don't need to be uploaded - just copy the URL from the photobucket like so: http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u192/gazspook/?action=view¤t=Supetunnel2.flv http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u192/gazspook/?action=view¤t=Supetunnelincar.flv Cheers James

Alex
Look up your local powerflow dealer/fitter. They should be able to; A) Replace you're back bax with a quieter one B) Fit an additional inline silencer if it's needed.
Gerry
Come to Santa Pod on Saturday and you will be able to listen to loads of different exhausts, both with & without cats....
couv3z
not to point out a stupid fact but will you not need to put a CAT back in for mot reasons? if so surely putting the second one back in will make it quieter?

Yes, sure - however I don't have the second cat, and for BPU I need both cats out
