Mcgoo
lol... I remember you compaining that your already bald tyres refused to show canvas... no matter how hard you tried! what do they handle like when all the tread has gone? I was very suprised how much grip I had considering I was on 19s. Eagle F1s are soft and I suppose they were essentially slicks so pretty good. heckler
Glad you all enjoyed it, the next one is planned for september time. however if there is enough interest its possible to hire the runway for the MKIV supras to do what you want with. Would be needing 40-50 cars to make it affordable.
SteveL
By this time only Steve L and myself remained and he was on it. He had enough fuel for another session and offered to take me out in his single with his R888s fitted. F*^k it was quick and they had SO much grip. Cheers Steve. .... must admit I was kept on coming in and as soon as some asked if I wanted to go out I couldn't refuse! The car was running so well I didn't want to go home... I even stayed out until they threw us off The day was superb... big thumbs up to Si for letting us know about this. It was superbly organised and an excellent place to really push the cars and ourselves. ( I'm absolutely knackered today!! ) We did shame a few nice cars out there - the Supes showed the rest how to do an airfield day. I had a nice run in with an evo6 and a Lotus Carlton ( that white one with transfers on it ) and dropped both of them in the twisties Really good to meet the guys that turned up - we all had a blast... so anyone that didn't/couldn't go.... you really need to get to the next one! That F40 was a tw4t! he understook me turning into a corner - which would have been a meeting between us had I not seen him and backed off.... but he span 2 corners later so I gave him a wave .... but this was pretty much the only minor point for the day. R888's rock... I managed to get them to break away, but only under 1.2 bar and some hard exits from corners... there is no doubt ( as Wez says ) these are superb tyres. I overconfidenly went into the fast left hander before the main straight a couple of times and they progressively let go so that you could still catch the slide and get out of trouble. Good show from the club - lets make the next one absolute domination oh... and a couple of pics .....
Mike B
My tyres were clawing, crying and sqeeling like the proverbial stuck pig and as the weight of the car transferred from all 4 corners.. the suspension and grip toatally overwhelmed them... it was a day of tyre torture! the front bridgestones look they have been mauled, each knobble has raggedy uneven wear, like the morning after a hard night on the booze.. although the overall profile of the tyre is fine. Fancy some of those 888's but it's an expensive do with rims for just a couple of days a year... I was also pulling a lot of ign by the end of the day - heat was a problem... maybe some meth injection may be in order... oh to be a millionaire... Yeah it was bloody hot. I think I may need a new intercooler as I have been getting 1.2 bar throughout the winter but yesterday I couldn't get above 1.0 bar and that was @ WOT in 6th doing about 160. I'd better start saving up.

That corner was awesome, the goodyear torturer!! I was hanging out through half of third gear, and only straightened up because I needed to change into 4th...lol a fantastic place to experiment with the car's setup and driving styles... so much fun! never driven a track so well setup to our car's size and power.. it was single heaven. Wez
It was very very hot, so hot that I was debating flooring in 6th on the main straight but all the temps looked ok so I did My little SMIC and Water/Meth seemed to work a treat. I used it to cool everything down ! - each time I went down there at about 100 in 6th I caould pull 5-6 deg. off the oil and water temps! ... hows the wastegate? I didn't see you go so presumed you gave up towards the end?

Gazboy
There is two videos on PH taken from a mk1 MR2, no Supras in 25 minutes of footage but it gives you a good idea of the track layout. Was the overtaking rule set for the right, or were people not giving a shit and passing on both sides? Looks like a fantastic track.
V
Absolute corker of a day – thanks Si. First track day and loved it. A bit cautious for the first 2 laps but then had loads of fun. EVO F40 & an Escort Cossie were the main tussles. 2 go only got in one lap before the Evo caught fire and saw the fire truck playing chicken with me! 3rd go was fantastic. Had a few drifts after the pit chicane which the video camera there, so hopefully should be on the dvd I’ll be on the next one. Sooo much room. Nice long straight with a few twisty bits. Well suited the Supra!! I’ve got some video inside & out the car but not looked at it yet. Not sure how it will come out. Quickly sorted something out that moring. Thanks

Overtaking was on the right... which is why when F40 boy undertook me on the left I was gonna throw my helmet through his windscreen! heckler
...can I be the first on the list :) . Si - whats 'affordable' ? Right - cost would be £2500 for hire of the track, be looking at minimum of 50 cars to make it worth while.
V
Some quick in car pics. DAMN the rear view is MASSIVE!!!! Need a smaller tripod! Note the fire truck on the right and the camera van

Si, that is a VERY good price ! - £50 each for that kind of access to a track. ... or even £62.50 for 40 people ( or is 50 a minimum for base reasons ? )
