neil tt
Another great race for Lewis Hamilton. Not so good for Mclaren but can't win them all (unless your names Schumi and you push everyone out the way)
BASHTHEBISHOP
Yep the boy is very good! Made alonso look poor! If he hadnt of had a sitcky patch in the middle he might of had that.
merckx
You wouldn't think it was his first season in F1, it's nice to see a British driver doing so well. It's a pity we've got to wait four weeks for the next race though.
grahamc
Sorry, but I think F1 is going to hell... its so boring these days... And the amount of HYPE around Hamilton just annoys me... Most people would be that good, if lived motorsport for that long.

grahamc
being brought up with the backing of major player like maclaren?
ads274
He's won every championship he's entered hasn't he? Gotta give him his dues for that. And i think he's great for the sport from an english point of view. it should make it more popular with a brit who is actually in contention for the championship. Another interesting fact is that he's the first person to be on the podium in his first three races in the history of formula 1. But then anyone could have done that
grahamc
I agree, he is very good... but I dont like hearing his name every 10 seconds... EDIT. cant argue, he is very good!

There's still a lot of natural talent involved, compare Alonso with Fisichella, Schumacher with Barrichello, Mansell with Patrese etc. All team mates with the same car! p.s. Lewis Hamilton is the first driver to have three consecutive podiums in their first three F1 races, it's not hype.

But most drivers have to work at it (F1 I mean) before they get a ride in one of the best teams in F1. All the names/teams mentioned, were put together for a reason, to get the primary driver to win and a secondary to back him up for the constructors. That didnt go to plan then. The secondary drivers of ferrari and mclaren both beat the primary drivers Just being pedantic
merckx
the same car, please. they spend money and time setting up for their primary driver. its all about the money. Some of drivers have said this, I think it's just a reason they have to explain their lack of performace compared to their teammate. All the names/teams mentioned, were put together for a reason, to get the primary driver to win and a secondary to back him up for the constructors I was just pointing out the fact that you won't automatically be a winner if you're in the best car, you do need talent too . The fact that you've been in motorsport since a young age doesn't automatically mean you'll be a champion.
TLicense
you do need talent too and not just being in motorsport from a young age. Oh I don't know. Look at Jensen Button. Akh! you've edited your post to add "to be a world champion."

TLicense
There's only sooo much hype about him in Britain. Yes there's hype around the guy, he's a rookie doing well, but it's gone mental here.
neil tt
The thing is we like a hero and he's there. At the begining of the year, its they have given Hamilton a chance and see what happens, all of a sudden he mixing it with best drivers in the world. Oh and didn't DC do well, well almost, bit like the rest of his drving history, but I still think hes got it:d
SimonB
I place Button in the same category as DC, a good solid driver but they haven't got that last bit that makes an exceptional driver. Hamilton does, you can see it straight away in his attitude on track. Must admit I'm getting pretty fed up of the entire TV build up and after-race stuff being about him though. Bobbeh
ITV need someone like him to get people watching their shoddy commentary - even though I'm pretty sure sour Brundle is getting fed up with it already

Maybe I worded my statement earlier poorly. This is pretty much what I was trying to say... Along with the fact that F1 is becoming boring... DC was going well for once. They need a british star to keep the people watching...
