Driveways - Epoxy resin bonding?? Anyone?

We are thinking about having the driveway done [it's looking a bit messy after having to rip it up last year because of a burst water pipe] and I want something nice to park the Supra on!

Has anyone had any experience with epoxy resin?

It basically just looks like glued down gravel.

I'd just like to know if it ages well, that sort of thing.

Cheers.

I need to have mine done over the summer but we have quite a big drive and would imagine it will be about 3k..

A bit worried about cowboys turning up and doing a shit job too!!

I quite fancy this imprinted concrete stuff. It's relatively new though isn't it? Wonder how many years you will get out of it too.....:eyebrows:

It's been round fro years, but new processes have made it more affordable to the masses :)

As long as the right type of concrete is used, it should last 20 years at least. For example, I would assume they'd have to use air-entrained concrete otherwise frost damage would cause it to start breaking up within 5 years.

a big problem with driveways and supras is that the car weighs more than a normal car, so you need to make sure that the hardcore etc is very well laid out and that the surface can take the weight.

Im looking at a driveway at the moment to finish off the extension but its the same problem. Too many cowboys out there and my builder is quoting £3.5k for a concrete job with steel reinforcing.

Does anybody know of any reliable driveway companies around the Watford area?

well luckily I have a very solid concrete driveway already and it's nice and flat.

That's why I was thinking, better (and nice looking perhaps) to get it covered in the bonded gravel than to have to dig it all up in order to put block paving in, obviously the block paving can't just go on top of the existing as the level would be too high, a tad above the ground level of the house probably lol.

so if you already have a suitable surface, the bonded gravel makes a lot of sense - if not and you have to do all the groundwork first anyway I guess there is less between the too, but I still think block paving is pricey and would work out quite a lot more expensive.

My thoughts exactly. I'm worried that i might be ripped off by a bunch of Gipsy's. My drive is pretty big to. about 4 car lengths. It would cost me an arm and a leg.:(

You saw mine the other night Daz and that had 3 cars on it and with a bit of squeezing we have got another on when we have had parties/BBQ's etc.

I would go beserk if someone did my drive and a couple of months later it was falling apart. Plus the fact that you won't be able to get the b*stards back as they have your money and they are off and away..... Me and the missus have about 10K for improvements top our house and I can't afford any mistakes as the full budget is accounted for.
