SKI
Basically, the spoiler's been making a grinding noise for a few months now. Recently, it's started deploying and then retracting again immediately. When I'm driving the green spoiler light flashes, if that's any help? At the moment I just have it turned off. Not planning on getting rid and would rather fix if possible. Any suggestions as to what to try (other than a front mounted intercooler ?) C.W serviced my car today and thought it sounded like a shafted motor. Wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem.
Guest gzaerojon
does it move freely? i'm wondering if all the joints have rusted/seized? might be worth removing it and stripping it down, greasing it all up as the motor might just be strugling to move it all
SKI
Cheers for the reply. It does seem to move ok, that's the bizarre thing, it comes down with a squealing noise and then just goes back up. I could try greasing all the parts. If it's not the motor, I wonder if it's the ECU the controls how it deploys. Just to clarify, my car is UK spec so that rules out spedo conversion problems.
