Pixelfill
Has anyone any experience of the ebay - "Item not received or significantly not as advertised" claims process. I've just opened a dispute with a seller and am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to play it? TIA Mike
Pixelfill
just read the section on proof of purchase: Proof of payment may be provided in the form of a photocopy of the front and back of a postal order, receipt, banker's draft, personal cheque, etc how many people photocopy their cheques before sending them?? Or is it jut me:blink: Mike
Feakins
You can request a copy cheque from the bank, usually about a fiver. Might be easier photo copying the statement that shows the cheque being cashed.
neil tt
I sent a copy of statement, with all the irrelevent bits blanked out, I have been contacted by the police, because they caught someone, but not recieved anything yet and its been 7 months, so don't hold your breath:)
michael
I went through it for a set of £80 speakers, long-winded, frustrating and fairly pointless given the £15 I eventually got once eBay ruled in my favour. With the time spent and cost of copy cheques, recorded postage to eBay etc it wasn't worth it.
JamesG
I've been through it twice. First time, an item was damaged in transit. The seller wouldn't refund me until he had successfully claimed back from Royal Mail (taking several weeks). I won the Paypal dispute but didn't get a refund from them as I hadn't posted the parcel back recorded delivery (you *must* have a tracking number). I eventually got a refund from the seller. Second time I bought a memory card that went faulty after a week. Seller agreed to refund me, I posted the card back then never received the refund. Paypal didn't get a reply from the seller after 10 days, so they refunded me the full amount (I assume from the seller's account).
sooper-supra
basically if they cant provide tracking then you will get your money back paypal favours the buyer... i dislike paypal as after selling a laptop for £400 the buyer then claimed their money back.. however i had transferred money to the bank in time so now the paypal account is in the "red" no longer can use now ...
