Just had my neighbour complain that my cat has been sharping his claws on the roof of her KA convertable. I didn't know whether to tell him off or give him a treat ;)

on a serious note how can i stop him doing it ?

he has a scratching post already, which he uses and i gave the lady a water pistol to squart him with but what else can i do?

If thats your cat in your av then I think she should be proud that a talented dancing cat wants to shred his claws on it.

Seriously though, I've tried the spray stuff and it definately works kept mine from ripping the hell out of the living room rug. I think I got it from 'Pets at Home' but don't quote me on that.

Unusually, I have my sensible head on today and was wondering if this thread would have received the same type of posts had the neighbours cat been using the Supra roof as a claw sharpening utility.

Somehow, I think not eh? :)

If a cat had big enough claws to get though the metal roof of my Supra I'd let it do whatever the hell it liked!

Normal cats seek fabric / wood etc to stick their claws into, they just like to sit on cars rather than attack them (the stones in their pads scratch though, mine has a few marks but it's only a car)
