T2 MSW
Went to look at a facelift VVTI last night which looked a really nice car, Unfortunatly I could not take it for a test drive as I was late getting there, hopefully going back at the weekend. One thing I was unsure of was where the built in boost guage should sit with in park. I would have guessed it should sit around 0 and then boost either way when the turbos came online. On this one it sat at the bottom of the guage and when reaching 5K ish it bliped but nothing like id expect. Is this just because the car is parked and not in montion? Alex
You can't make positive boost whilst stationary...unless you power brake. It should sit will under 0 at idle. Sounds like it's working fine.
Havard
What are you doing with your Aerotop Mike?? H.
pistonbroke
With engine off, it should sit a 0, atmospheric pressure, at idle it will be in negative value, (vacuum). The when turbos start to push, it'll move into postive.

Pete
It should sit on zero. Either it's a duff gauge/sender, or a sign of something more sinister. Perhaps get your hands on a mechanical gauge you can quickly attach to put your mind at rest?
Havard
It's OK I have seen the for sale thread now! I think he'll be putting the wheels on the TT when he gets it Adam!! H.
T2 MSW
lol, keeping the wheels adam! Aerotop is for sale, will be on the forum tonight when I have some decent pics. The negative value makes sence then.
