Guest gunner
Hello all i am a new boy, I have had my silver j spec TT auto for just a month and i am loving it, however i have a few queries i hoped you might help me with, It has 2 greddy gauges mounted on an "A" pillar, boost and EGT what is the standard boost pressure and what temp should i expect the EGT to show ie. when hot. It also has an HKS EVC 3 which is set to 'monitor' at the moment i really don't understand the benefit of this, as i'm not sure i want to up the boost just yet. I really don't know what else has been done apart from an HKS BOV and induction kit and a fat exhaust, 18" alloys and side skirts. Would it be advised to get a dyno reading done as i think it can be done in Northampton? A nice chap leaned out of his van in Northampton recently and told me to look this club up, so cheers whoever you were. Sorry for the essay! any thoughts gratefully appreciated. suprz_rz
Standard boost is 0.8 bar. I dont know for sure, but EGT I believe is safe under 800 deg.

Roy
hi gunner and welcome (pls don't tell me you are an arsenal fan ?). i suspect the answer to your egt question will depend where the probe has been inserted. you will need to find that out first before determining what the accepted (?) temps should be. Steve W2
Stnadard boost is around 0.8 bar, as for the EGT's I think if they are below 800oC you are okay as standard. If your car is decatted and running more than stock boost pressures then your EGT will inevitably be higher. If you have very high EGT's whilst running 1.2 Bar (for example) then check that both moggies have been removed. If the first one is still there that won't be helping the heat situation. Also as somebody else has mentioned you need to check where the probe is inserted ( ) before you worry to much about the EGT temp's:)
Guest gunner
Thanks for all the welcomes and advice, it's quite a steep learning curve changing from an average Joe type car, but nice to be part of an elite group!! cheers And no i'm not an Arsenal fan, it's a nick name from my Army days, Liverpool have always been my team!
