Misfire when accelarating

Ever since I fitted my High Stall (3800) I seem to have developed a slight cough / misfire when setting off quickly from a standstill. Definitely didn't happen pre high stall. Once moving the car never misses a beat. Any ideas welcome.

Cheers Dave

A high stall should not give you a missfire maybe its just time for new plugs? What boost are you running etc.....

I agree I can't think why it should do it but it does and the only thing thats changed is the torque convertor. I fitted new plugs about 2000 miles ago because there was a definite misfire at high revs under full boost (1.2bar) this is a different problem.

well its probably TC related, as you have said it only happens from a stand still and only since you fitted the TC. Can you not fit the stock TC back on and see if you still have the problem? then you can say its defo the TC and get it looked at. I know when the stock TC is on its way out it sort of "judders" not sure if thats what you are getting.

Thanks for that I will check them at the weekend but this does not happen under full boost conditions its only attempting to accelerate hard from a standstill either normally or during power braking ??

Cheers Dave

Dont forget that the 3800 stall is allowing/making the car to launch with a high boost thats the whole point.... :)
