That's the BOV recirc pipe. If you have the BOV fitted (and don't have an aftermarket one) then it is only necessary if you have the UK car with an airflow meter.

As long as the metal pipe sticking out of part number 14 is blanked off then you're ok. It will just make a nice dump valve noise instead of being silent.

thanks for the reply, yes number 14 is blanked off. however i get an oily residue blown out of 11 all over the shiny HKS hardpipes.

also forgive my ignorance but where would an aftermarket dump valve be fitted, i have the noise but now im guessing the reason is cause that pipe is missing as you explained.

Aftermarket BOV can be fitted anywhere between the turbo outlets and the inlet manifold :)

As long as you have the stock BOV in place (number 11 itself) then there's no need to worry. The oily residue is normal. You can fit another piece of pipe onto the std BOV and direct the air released (with oil vapour) somewhere else if you like.

Also the stock BOV has a tendancy of leaking. If it is you'll be able to hear it at most times when on boost, or cruising at about 80. It gives a constant hiss when knackered. I made mine adjustable to increase the spring pressure as its the spring that weakens and alows air to escape.
