grahamc
going try them today or tomorrow, too busy at work today...
grahamc
I'm guessing one problem may be your residency. You said that you had a South African licence prior to you doing the swap for the UK. Some companies require a certain residency length eg 3-5 years, esp when you are looking at specialist scheme not just 'computer says' rates. Can see why it's frustrating to be honest. any idea of a company that does not require this??
Mas
I'm afrade they usually require this but as long as you have a UK licence for a year+ it should be ok mate. try elephent or Bell if you still havent tried them.

Havard
no, got a couple to ring tomorrow... just getting very annoyed with it all... I was like that! I had a list of about 30 and rang AON about 10th. Never bothered trying to beat it after that because I thought the quote was silly cheap for the cover. I also got an extra 1000 miles on my limit compared to A-Plan. The residency thing might be a problem as I have been uk resident all my life! Good luck! H. Mas
residency shouldn't be a problem once you have a UK full license, Im sure you ll get a better quote now that you have it for more than a year

grahamc
YEEHAA!! Got my first quote on the supra today!! A-Plan... even though they said 2 years was a must, they worked hard to get the underwriters to go for it. Using previous (South African driving experience and cars driven) to get me a quote of £1555 for the supra. Says that he is very confident that that should drop to around £1000 next year. Just happy I got a decent quote...
