Jspec Germany
Alright, now we're gettin somewhere. I'm on the third tumbler of Caol Ila. Excellent bottle, very light in color with a strong finish, first time I've tried it. I don't drink anything younger than 12, so this was at the low end for me, but it's been a nice suprise. I've also currently got Balvenie Portwood 21 on the shelf next to a bottle of Bowmore Enigma 12 that's supposed to fantanstic with a good cigar. Bob
Went to the Edradour distillery a couple of years ago, whilst on holiday up by Loch Rannoch Quite like Old Pultney for the money, and the Bruichladdie 'Yellow Submarine' too
Bob
Wish I could afford the better stuff, tbh. I'd love a bottle of the 25yo MacAllan - absolute nectar - but about £250-£300 a bottle!
JustGav
I like a nice 30+ year old glenfiddich every once in a while...
Jspec Germany
I like a nice 30+ year old glenfiddich every once in a while... I get that at a very good price. When I have nothing else in the house to drink, there's always a bottle of Glenlivet 12 around.

Oooh, may have to speak to you about getting a bottle then... I've only ever found two bottles and they were a limited edition and set me back a fair wack, but then my dad and I only have a small drop on special occasions (Needless to say it is the only time I touch alcohol)
Gaz Walker
I do like a nice bottle of Scotch, but tend to be on the Bourbon side more these days.

Caol Ila is slightly peaty i think , Flaura and Fauna bottles fetch over 100 quid now. One of the most aromatic ones I've ever tried was a 1977 Bicentenary Highland Park the smell almost filled the pub.

As with the Gin, the same applies. PM me. You going to DB? Dalmore and Belvenie are two of my favs. Mike M - Yes, very peaty, but I like that now and again. Mike M
Cannot tell the difference between scotch, bourbon or brandy. It is all the same to me Untrained pallette lol. Bourbons usually make me screw my face up. The only Bourbon I quite liked was Jim Beam Black label.
Terminator
I have been a single malt drinker for over 30 years, One of my favourites is 15year old Springbank. We have a merchant in town who has more whiskeys under one roof that I have seen any where else. They have customers in Scotland who order from them. if anyone is looking for something special let me know, any excuse to go sampling. It can take a while for your pallet to get accustomed to the more strongly flavoured malts. It is best to start with a mild well known malt such as Glenfiddich or Rosebank. Just poured a glass of Laphroaig distillery cask strength 55.7% cheers

loks
Sorry to say that although coming from Scottish parentage, I do prefer the taste of the Irish stuff A wee dram of Jamesons or Tulamore Dew occassionally, can make me happy...
Nick
Whiskey is to be enjoyed, I like both singles and blends. Bourbon is what you drink when you're on the lash and fed up drinking beer. Jim Beam and coke is my preference.
