It was...but I beat you to it :p

Is it Dubai or Kos then?

Kos Pete - or at least that's the tentative plan.

I have wanted to go for a long time now but was always held back due to my sons being young and the situation with my Mum back in Wales. As the boys are now 16 and almost 20, that side of things doesn't pose too much of a problem any more and my mother has now moved into sheltered accommodation so that problem has gone too.

It is now down to me making the final decision and selling up. :)

Fantastic! Very envious. Get a nice large place with a pool and I might come visit. ;)

TBH, that isn't part of the plan - by that I mean a large place, not you visiting ;)

This is not a retirement, more a move to a change of lifestyle but I will still need to work. I am lucky to have an offer to work in a nice bar that a mate owns and also have the offer of buying in on a 50/50 share.

I reckon my place will have to be a nice 2 bedroom apartment and with the sea just 800 yards away, who needs a pool! :D

I wish I had the opportunity to try this lifestyle out. I couldn't leave my job here after spending so much time to build it all up. Same with Vicki. Sincerest good luck with it and I hope it all works out.

I think at your age, I would have been too young as I still had so much more to do in this country. Now, at my age, I can look at it as a sort of semi retirement and if I don't do it soon, I never will.

Wow, good luck when you decide to take the plunge Col.

When you do, let us all know the bar name and we can all come out and get drinks on the house. ;)

No problem my friend. It is called "Michi's Beachside bar" and is at the resort of Tingaki on Kos :D
