Havard
Not for the Supe, but for the house!! I have today cleaned my windows for the first time since last August and although they were filthy, over the winter I had hardly noticed. It has taken me a couple of hours to do all the windows and UPVC frames to perfection but it made me wonder. Do you all employ a window cleaner and how much do they charge? Our local one wanted £4 a week and only comes once a fortnight. Thats £208 a year for the two hours work I have just done.... Ok then, so what price do you put on having clean windows all year round too! H.
Ric
lol ask him why would you be paying him for a week when he doesent do them, surely it should be 4quid every 2 weeks
Ewen
I've Edwardian timber sash windows...the dirt is the only thing holding them together. I'll let the next owner have the pleasure of cleaning them.
Ewen
Wifes Dad cleaned windows during the early part of WWII...he did a house in Peartree Ave on the Sunday and the house was bombed that night, totally destroyed. His Dad went round on the Monday for the money:blink:
Havard
I was trying to work out whether I am as tight as cramp or does it just not seem worth it? The last time we had them done, I paid a guy £20 for a one off. He only wanted a fiver...WTF!! But about 2 days after he'd done them it pissed down and we were back to SQ1. I reckon it takes a good couple of months for your windows to get dirty to the point where they have to be cleaned... The other issue I have is that there is another window cleaning company that only seems to employ young chavs and they stand all over your pitched roof at the front and break your tiles, then have a damn good nosey to see what you've got inside your house too! DaveK
I reckon it takes a good couple of months for your windows to get dirty to the point where they have to be cleaned... I disagree. I've lived here 7 years now and my windows are still not dirty enough that they need to be cleaned! I think there is a window cleaner around here that knocked on the door one day but I said no. Now an actual cleaner (hoovering / dusting etc.) I am seriously considering. I also don't think that needs doing all that often but the g/f seems to disagree. I am sat in our living room and have just noticed a house that I didn't realise was there before!! H.

I think perhaps it's one of those things where you only realise how dirty they were when you clean them. I don't think my windows are very dirty - if I spent a couple of hours cleaning them I'd probably realise they were disgusting. But why would I want to upset myself like that? ivan
I don't think ours have been cleaned for a couple of years either. I tend to hose them down sometimes when washing the car but that's about it.

It wasn't an issue until I tried to find something to do today as tomorrow is Supra bath and wax day!! H.
