merckx
Both ideas that they came up with for the pet shop were absolutely pathetic! The way they elimate them isn't logical, you could be hopeless in business but you can get carried along by your winning team! I'm glad the posh one got sacked too, mainly because of the rambo belt as it was ridiculous.
DaveK
Actually - although I agree he is an argumentative git - I think people are being a bit harsh on "Tre". Apart from treating them all like 5 year olds (take off your jackets and ties now!) the big mistake the posh rambo wannabe made was sending people to a focus group - and then not calling them to find out the feedback before deciding what their product would be. Tre repeatedly told him that he needed to call them and find out what was going on - he refused and told Tre he couldn't phone them. It was ridiculous "management". It's the first episode I've seen where it was 100% clear who's fault the failure was, and who would be sacked. Usually, several of them are incompetent but posh-rambo was an idiot. In Tre's position I would have decked him.
fishman
the posh bloke just didn't listen to anyone, the people who went to the focus group and actually asked the people what they wanted, and they went with what they didn't want (crap dog shoulder strap) weird...... Should of gone simple with the waterproof mat....

Charlotte
Entertaining as the program was last night, the candidates this year are poor. Last year was so much better I agree. Even the year before that. Cream of British business world?! Hmmmm.
terribleturner
I think they use some fancy helicopter shots of "the city". Amstrad HQ seems to be in Essex, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had central London offices. It also wouldn't surprise me if the whole boardroom was a TV studio. It's a rented office for the boardroom scenes. Maybe most of the filming is done elsewhere (ie cheaper). I forgot the BBc have their outside broadcast warehouse round the corner so makes sense

Rob
That was the Roman's. No no no, the Romans may have banged the nails in, but it was the people who voted Jesus out of the Big brother house. A bit like blaming Channel 4 for the rascism thing, where Jade represents Jesus (or something, this analogy may be deeply flawed) As I understand it, it is the whole basis for anti-semitism. Also, Judas Iscariot was the first vampire, are we far enough OT yet?
Tannhauser
As I understand it, it is the whole basis for anti-semitism. It's certainly a central element, however: 1) The Romans also persecuted the jews (long before the Roman Empire became officially christian under Constantine). There were purges in the first century (under Tiberius? Caligula?). One reason may be a backlash against jewish intellectual/commercial success. 2) There's also 'usury'. Jews throughout the middle ages charged interest on money-lending to gentiles but not to each other. Christian law regarded usury as morally dubious at best nd might have been legislated against. This created huge amounts of resentment which helped feed pogroms against often wealthy jewish enclaves. Anyway, BTTT.
