Geo
So im driving along, and i noticed that when my first Turbo is spooling, from 3000rpm on wards i get a higher pitched Spool. Performance wise the car is great, no smoke out back. Any idea's of what it could be?? Edit, i checked out the death Whine sound clip, mine does not sound anything like it. Guru
Are we talking like a barely heard sound over road noise/exhaust or a loud noise like a bad bearing would make?
VIL
You could have the mystery `Whine`....see thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=103863
colsoop
I had this a few years ago it was due to a leak in my blitz dump valve.
Geo
Are we talking like a barely heard sound over road noise/exhaust or a loud noise like a bad bearing would make? Its hard to explain but, its like a high pitched sound as soon as the turbo spools, its noticable tho, just started doing it today, iv had a good look at all hoses cant see any thats split or anything. Geo
I had this a few years ago it was due to a leak in my blitz dump valve. there does seem to be some gathered up gunky oil type stuff round one of the pipes to the stock BOV. Could this be the problem??
Geo
Right i can only hear the noise when im drving the car, when im reving it under the bonnet, i cant hear anything at all.

Geo
Anything loose enough to reverberate? Nothing at all mate, iv giving it a good check. Iv got the car booked onto a RR tomorrow, to see if we can find the problem. will take Video camera and post up the results we find, could help others. It is very strange, it really seems like there is a leak some where?? Im now thinking it could be a gubbed BOV(Stock). Will find out tomorrow i hope. Ric
More whine when more boost makes sense as the blowers are working harder, i ment.... When your on boost then let off the accelerator does the whine briefly go up in pitch before going away

It does sound like we have a similar problem, im getting mine looked at tomorrow on a dyno, we'll see if we can pin point it. Will keep you posted, going to try and record it on Camera. Geo
Well had the car looked at today on a dyno, and bad news, numer2 tubbie has decided its on its last legs. So what do you do in this situation?? Well you go buy a T61 kit, with all the trimmings to get fitted and mapped in a couple of weeks. Not all bad NEWS!
