michael
I think it's the singers voice / singing style that annoys me most of all. Discuss....
Charlotte
I loved their last album offering. I do find them a bit too Northern though.

Digsy
I really liked their last effort. Chirpy songs about regular mates / weekend / relationships stuff without sounding chavvy like The Streets for example. "Red light indicates doors are secure" was brilliant. Judging by the last few singles the next album will be more of the same. I heard another band on Radio One the other night and they were a blatant Actric Monkeys rip off. I forget who they were now, though. Same style and subject matter though.
Charlotte
so you're northernist then? It's the Yorkshire accent I can't stomach.
michael
I do find them a bit too Northern though. One of the things that annoys me is that he sings like he's trying to be an American / Cockney hybrid that pronounces things like a good honest northerner should. Really? I always find him to be very Sheffield in his speaking and singing, especially songs like Mardy Bum.
michael
Maybe I'm confusing them with N-Sync
Charlotte
Maybe I'm confusing them with N-Sync Or Blink 182.
Ryan.G
The lead singer sounds like a Northern Tramp busking
Mike
I love them... 'for my money', one of the best bands in the land currently.. I'm amazed how he can write songs like 'Mardy Bum' at his age.. Apparently the new album will be a bit noisier... I read an interview (abet a very short one) in 'Uncut' this month and they've been listening to QOTSA.. so hopefully it'll be good.. they're good at noisy.. Michael - I bet you don't like them for the same reason I don't like The Futureheads and Maximo Park.. they sound like me trying to sing! silvershark44
Saw them at Leeds festival last summer, they werent all that, and they were acting really cocky on stage as if they were the new oasis or something.
Class One
Who?
Snooze
I'm usually known here for my desire to seek out some of the less-well-known bands just to find something different. So, in a snooty, missed-the-bandwagon, kind of way I deliberately avoided the Northern Arctic Monkeys first effort for a while. When I finally listened to the album, some months later, I really, really, really didn't want to like it. Conclusion: best album I bought last year. Looking forward to the next one! RedM
All their lyrics are written by JimBob from the much missed Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. Allegedly......
M4RK RZ
It's the Yorkshire accent I can't stomach. hey! watch it !
M4RK RZ
They are fantastic, went to see them live at MAGNA Rotherham/Sheffield home town gig - totaly electric performance !! I can play 4 of there songs too
Jezz
I think they're talentless, noisey, badly written, poorly produced crap. If they ever come on the radio, its turned off or switched over, or maybe thrown at the wall. Complete drivel.
Charlotte
They seem to be very Marmite at the moment then.
