silvershark44
I still have this noise issue coming from the rear left wheel! Was almost 100% sure it was the brake disk, as it seemed to be warped and catching. However after changing the disk, the noise still occurs!! Strange thing is, it only makes the noise when coasting on the power from the auto box. Under throttle you cant here it at all!
DaveK
Have I missed the thread where you describe the noise? I assume you've ruled out wheel bearing?
Scooter
you check the clearance of the disk to the sheet metal guard yes? Jack up, wheel off, clamp disk down with wheel nuts and check?
silvershark44
this is a link to the noise in its infancy. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=100038&highlight=strange+noise
silvershark44
you check the clearance of the disk to the sheet metal guard yes? Jack up, wheel off, clamp disk down with wheel nuts and check? I have had the wheel off so many times, and never noticed the metal guard catching. When the car is cold, there isnt a single noise. Its only after approximately 20 mins of driving it just starts up like hell. Strange thing is, it only makes the noise when coasting on the power from the auto box. Under throttle you cant here it at all!
silvershark44
Have I missed the thread where you describe the noise? I assume you've ruled out wheel bearing? 3 garages have check the wheel bearing and say its fine.
