Charlotte
I know when someone ordered plane tickets and stuff on mine, I never even saw it on my statement. They just dealt with it. Are you sure that wasn't Vicki, trying to escape?
Mike
And of course there's that £300 a day limit or something so you'd have to cut back on your spends. You should work for Capita

grahamc
Get onto your bank, they should have protection measure in place. HSBC phones me everytime something unusual goes through on my CC. They spotted £500 + of online gambling, which was not me. Phoned and immediately cancelled the card. Other option some cards offer protection against card fraud and identity theft, CapitalOne if I remember correctly. Could be done living on cash, but would be mighty difficult, I never have cash on me (South African thing). Homers idea is the best though, only have a few quid available... Jake
If any fraud happens I'll cancel my DD so they can't take any cash off me and they can sort it out themselves. How does that work then? What about the non-fraud money you owe for that month?
tbourner
I pay for everything with a card, but that's cause I don't have any money and it's easier to spend someone elses.

DaveK
Get onto your bank, they should have protection measure in place. HSBC phones me everytime something unusual goes through on my CC. They spotted £500 + of online gambling, which was not me. Phoned and immediately cancelled the card. Egg have called me a number of times in the past regarding unusual activity (although it's always been genuine) including when we were attempting to hire a car in France. However, they didn't on these occasions - but then the activity wasn't all that unusual. I pay for most things with my card - and spending £500 at a car audio shop is not really out of character (in fact I dread to think how much of my card bill is related to cars in some way). The mobile phone charge up was unusual - but that was only £30 and unlikely to trigger any alerts for them.
Pete
How does that work then? What about the non-fraud money you owe for that month? F*ck 'em. I wouldn't pay a penny until they sorted it out. or As suggested by our Super SupraGal you can pay directly into their bank account by reference number instead.
