Best racing game on PC or console?

I'm going for PGR2 on xbox.

I like the feel of the cars more than any other game I've played. This offsets the fact that you have to keep driving other cars and can't build up a car through different classes like you can with Forza.

Forza's handling sucked big time. If it had handled like PGR2 then I'd have chosen that.

What's your favourite?

Gotta disagree I loved forza, definatley my favourite. Which is why I'm getting rather excited about the upcoming sequel. I've been itching for a good online racer since I bought the 360. PGR2 was great though certainly the best of the three IMO.

Depends, my favourte sim of all time is still Toca, although GTR2 is pretty damn good. In terms of just fun, racing games where you can just sit down and play then im playing Test Drive Unlimited at the mo which is pretty good fun.

I really loved TOCA as well. Great game and I loved the damage. At the minute though I really like Test Drive. I just love the way that you can drive around a whole island

4got Micro Machines v3 that was the nuts, 8 people on the megadrive at once :D

TestDrive i like at the moment. but i really really used to like Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast, had a much better Kudos system than Project Gotham.

Gran Turismo 2 on the PS1 was the best ever!

Cant play it now coz the graphics look cack by modern standards,

Toca was awesome and so was need for speed...

Not really a 'car' racing game but road rash 2 on the megadrive was, and still is, a wicked post pub favorite! :D

I can't believe nobody has mentioned rFactor yet, it's the only game i play now (and i love racing games). The game as standard is a bit thin on the ground in terms of variety but check out all the mods available

Check out the hall of fame for the current best rated mods.

I played the demo of rFactor and REALLY didn't get on with it.

I have to agree with Michael on this one, GTR2 and Live For Speed are my fav's on the PC... and I think Live for Speed is EASILY the best! :) http://www.liveforspeed.net
